NYT readers sent in some unusual questions, and the surgeon did not give the clearest answers for a lay audience, but the piece is worth reading nonetheless.
A New Blog on Resurfacing
January 29, 2010Bill Johnson, the owner of two relatively new hips, has started a blog, Surgical Tourist. In his words, Johnson is trying to give “view of the problems I encountered with my hips and the steps I took to recover my active life.” Johnson also hopes to write a book about resurfacing. Sounds similar to what we are trying to do here at My Right Hip, except I do not have a book proposal in my hip pocket. Welcome to the blogosphere.

Medical Tourism Post
November 30, 2009Most blog posts about medical tourism seem to originate with a party who benefits from it–doctors in India, travel agencies, and the like. This post is simply an overview by a blogger who stumbled upon the topic while thumbing through a magazine.
Medical Tourism Blog Launches

My So-Called Orthopedic Life
October 29, 2009A blog of orthopedic issues from a woman who has had a few.
A Hip Blog
October 21, 2009I started this blog to record my recovery from hip resurfacing surgery. But with nearly two weeks to go before the surgery, I am sort of stalled. So here’s a blog post from somebody who has been through surgery and is ecstatic with the results. It provides a hefty counterweight to some of the links to posts by surgeons who are not fans of the procedure.
The blog is named “Hummers and Cigarettes: Addressing the Quirky Inconsistencies and Double Standards of Today’s Society.” Gotta love the attitude there.
A Newly Discovered Joint Replacement Blog
October 16, 2009I have been searching around for blogs about hip arthritis and joint replacement, and they are hard to find. But here is one. The orthopedic surgeon-author posts a few times a month, and most of them are worth reading. He seems to focus more on knees than hips.
